A gang of 6 members including two unqualified accountants and an ex- HMRC officer have been jailed for 24 years for VAT fraud of ??2.4m after a prolonged 3 year VAT investigation. Susanne Green, an ex- HMRC officer provided insider information to her gang members showing them loopholes on how to cheat the system and claim VAT repayments. She had worked closely with unqualified accountants Michael Perry and Daniel Wiedner to fraudulently allocated payments to specific businesses.?? Alarms were raised when the genuine business owners queried the missing VAT payments they had made and it was discovered that these had been re-allocated by Susanne Green.??
